God's purpose has never been limited to producing isolated spiritual individuals. Scripture repeatedly uses household language. Family. Brethren. Sons. Inheritance. Father. House. Living stones. Body. Bride. These images reveal that God's purpose is fundamentally relational. Christ is the Son over God's house. Through Him, strangers become members of the household of God. Individual stones are joined together. Different members become one body. The Father's goal is not merely mature sons but mature sons capable of living covenantally with one another. This is where sonship becomes corporate. It is easier to speak about maturity individually than to practice maturity relationally. Relationships expose pride, insecurity, independence, impatience, competition, unforgiveness, and control. Yet those same relationships become the environment where Christ can be formed. The house is established when sons learn honor, covenant, service, accountability, reconciliation, shared responsibility, and love. God does not simply inhabit individuals. He builds a dwelling through a people joined together.
Sonship Application: Mature sons must learn how to become family. Spiritual maturity that cannot sustain covenant relationships remains incomplete.
