PROVERBS Christ the Wisdom of God

Proverbs presents wisdom as something far greater than intelligence. Knowledge knows information. Wisdom knows how to apply truth skillfully to life. Again and again, a father speaks to a son: “My son, hear my instruction.” This father-son framework is central to Proverbs. Wisdom is transmitted relationally. The son must learn how to listen, discern, choose, speak, work, manage relationships, control desires, steward resources, and understand consequences. The New Testament identifies Christ as the wisdom of God. This means wisdom ultimately becomes visible in a Person. Jesus demonstrates how divine truth looks when lived perfectly within human life. Proverbs therefore prepares sons for representation. Wisdom governs speech, relationships, money, sexuality, work, emotions, and decisions because sonship is meant to become practical. Spiritual maturity is not measured solely by what someone understands during worship. It is revealed through how truth governs everyday life.
