EZRA AND NEHEMIAH Christ the Restorer of the House

Key Scriptures: Ezra 3:11; Nehemiah 2:17

Ezra and Nehemiah tell the story of restoration after exile. The people returned to a damaged city, a disrupted culture, and a weakened identity. Restoration required more than rebuilding structures. The temple had to be restored. The walls had to be rebuilt. The Word had to return to the center. The people had to remember who they were. Ezra represents restoration through the Word. Nehemiah represents restoration through order, leadership, and rebuilding. Together they reveal God's concern for both presence and structure. Christ fulfills both dimensions. He restores people as God's dwelling place and establishes them together as His spiritual house. The New Testament does not present the church primarily as an audience attending religious gatherings. It presents believers as living stones being built together. Restoration therefore moves from individual healing toward corporate alignment. God restores sons so that He may restore His house.

Sonship Application: Mature sonship includes learning how to build with others. Personal restoration must eventually contribute to corporate strength.
