EXODUS Christ the Deliverer and Passover Lamb

Key Scriptures: Exodus 12:13; 1 Corinthians 5:7

Exodus tells the story of people delivered from bondage so that they might become a people belonging to God. Israel's problem was greater than difficult circumstances. Pharaoh represented a system of bondage controlling identity, labor, future, and inheritance. God responded through deliverance. The Passover lamb stands at the center of that deliverance. Blood marked the houses of God's people, judgment passed over them, and Israel began its journey out of slavery. The New Testament identifies Christ as our Passover. His blood does more than rescue us from judgment. His redemption transfers us from bondage into belonging. God told Pharaoh, “Israel is my son.” Exodus is therefore a sonship story. God was not merely freeing slaves. He was reclaiming a son. Deliverance is never God's final destination. Egypt must come out of the people just as surely as the people came out of Egypt. The wilderness therefore becomes a place where slave mentality is confronted and covenant identity is formed. Christ delivers us so that we may know the Father, carry His name, and walk in the freedom of mature sons.

Sonship Application: Salvation is not merely escape from bondage; it is restoration into belonging, identity, and inheritance.

Reflection: What old patterns of bondage must no longer define someone whom the Father has called His son?
