ACTS Christ in the Spirit
Chapter 29: Christ in the Spirit — Shows how the ministry of the risen Christ continues through the Holy Spirit working within a Spirit-empowered corporate people.
ACTS Christ in the Spirit
Key Scriptures: Acts 1:8; Acts 2:33
Acts begins with Jesus ascending, but His work does not stop. Through the Holy Spirit, the life and ministry of Christ continue through His people. The Spirit descends. Witnesses are empowered. The gospel crosses boundaries. Communities form. Leaders emerge. The house expands. Acts reveals that the ascended Christ now works through a corporate body. What Jesus began personally continues through sons empowered by the Spirit. Pentecost is therefore more than a dramatic spiritual experience. It is divine empowerment for representation. “You shall receive power...and you shall be witnesses.” Power serves witness. The Spirit enables the church to make the invisible King visible through proclamation, character, community, compassion, healing, generosity, and kingdom life. Acts also demonstrates that mature sonship is corporate. No single believer carries the whole expression. A body is formed. Relationships matter. Shared mission matters. The house grows through many members functioning together.
Sonship Application: Mature sons do not seek the Spirit merely for personal experiences. They receive power to represent Christ and strengthen His house.
Reflection: How is the Spirit empowering you to make Christ visible beyond the walls of a church gathering?
